Electronic gauge for checking the reed strength of clarinet and saxophone reeds. Precise, quick and easy to use.
The strength of a reed is not—contrary to common belief—determined by the thickness at the tip. Rather, it is primarily the elasticity or bending stiffness of the fibers that matters. The stiffer the fibers, the more force is required to bend the tip.
